Description

Gloyer-Taylor Laboratories is a growing company headquartered in Tullahoma, TN looking to fill Engineer III positions to support the development of rocket engines, launch vehicles, and their components. Work includes exposure to export restricted materials and work eligibility confirmed by E-Verify. All job offers will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.

Expectations

• Expected to work with minimal supervision and to be able to determine the appropriate approach to assigned tasks independently

• Expected to be a subject matter expert on multiple systems under his or her specialty with a detailed understanding of how multiple systems interact

• Expected to be able to develop innovative solutions to unique problems

• Expected to adequately represent the company and give effective presentations to critical/high-level customers

Job Duties

• Conduct basic and applied research on multiple highly complex, major projects requiring innovative and original solutions

• Perform engineering tasks to support the development of launch vehicles and their structural components including, but not limited to:

  • Formulating conceptual designs of aerospace products and systems
  • Developing design criteria for aerospace products and systems
  • Evaluating designs for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, and GTL quality standards
  • Conducting experimental, environmental, operational, or stress tests on models or prototypes of aerospace systems or equipment

• Plan multiple projects simultaneously

• Manage entire projects along with associated project personnel

• Estimate, track, and complete projects on time and within budget

• Train employees both within and outside of his or her work group

• Create budgets and manhour projections for projects

• Write technical reports or other documentation for use by engineering staff, management, or customers

• Support Business Development efforts such as writing proposals, meeting customers, or identifying business opportunities

• Support GTL Management as necessary

Desired Experience

Since GTL offers such a diverse line of products and services, candidates are expected to be flexible and comfortable working on multiple assignments with varying subject matter. The ideal candidate would have a broad background with the following additional experience preferred:

• Experience in testing of propulsion systems and aerospace components

• Experience in the design and manufacturing of propulsion systems, launch vehicles, aerospace components, and composite systems

• Experience with the application of electrical systems, control systems, sensors and transducers

• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA), CFD, and fluid systems design and analysis
